TEACHING/LEARNING STYLES

Students will be guided through their coursework and contextual studies. Individual tuition and back-up technical support in addition to coursework notes will be provided. Group critiques help develop
students’ confidence in presenting their work and ideas. DVD, powerpoint and slide presentation is used for Art History and contextual studies. Visits to galleries and exhibitions are an integral part
of the course. Students are encouraged to make independent visits to galleries. Life drawing classes are arranged for Year 13 students.

INDEPENDENT STUDY

Individual development will be expected in the form of both practical and written research. Due to the time consuming nature of this subject students will be expected to attend extra tuition to maintain steady development of their work. In Advanced level study you should expect to spend 8 hours a week on work in addition to class work. This will include assessments set by teachers and background reading or practical exploration.
