The fine WHITFIELD LIBRARY was completed in 1984 where pupils have opportunities for regular access out-of-school hours.
The FLEXFORD SCIENCE BUILDING, completed in 1988, contains six fully equipped laboratories especially designed for hearing-impaired students.
During the latter part of 1989 and 1990 a major development project has created a superb CRAFT DESIGN TECHNOLOGY SUITE. The facilities include a graphics area with extensive computer facilities for computer aided design, and workshops for electronics, ceramics and all aspects of work with wood, metals and plastics. This facility enables us to offer all aspects of technology to GCSE and A-Level and GNVQ.
A lovely new ART AND DESIGN FACILITY was added to the school during 1998-99 and was opened officially by HRH The Princess Margaret on 30th November 1999. This has been entirely funded by charitable donations and is an important addition to the school’s facilities. It comprises two large art studios, a design studio, a photography studio and a large, well equipped dark room, a pottery and textile facility. Both staff and students are delighted to be able to work in such a congenial and stimulating environment.
DULVERTON HALL is a large assembly hall with an excellent small stage complete with lighting, powerful sound amplification, subtitling facilities, film projector and grand piano.
BLOUNT HALL, a spacious dining hall with kitchens was opened by Mrs. Mary Warnock on Speech Day 1977 and was refurbished in 1993 to allow cafeteria style service.
ARLINGTON ARTS CENTRErepresents the latest development in the work of Mary Hare and was officially opened by KT Tunstall on 14th October 2006. It encompasses an extensive Music Department for the pupils and offers the Mary Hare Charity the opportunity to extend its training and conference programme for deaf practitioners, families and those with an interest in deaf education. The Centre comprises a Theatre, a Conference Suite, a Recording Studio, Music teaching rooms and a Music Therapy Unit.
