Support for students

Each student is allocated a Personal Tutor, who is available every weekend.  Evening tutorials are timetabled  to enable students to easily access their personal tutor for help.  The Course and Module Leaders can provide additional advice and support.  Any students requiring individual support regarding academic writing can access the Academic Co-ordinator, who will provide additional 1:1 advice, to meet individual needs.

A specialist librarian is available on site and can provide advice on accessing literature and also provides a photocopying service for journals and books, which are not otherwise accessible.  Students are orientated in the use of the Oxford Brookes University library on commencement of the course, with updates as they progress through the course to ensure a thorough understanding of the university resources available and the best way to access them.  Guidance and training will also be given regarding the use of the Virtual Learning Environment (i.e. e-learning) via the Mary Hare Portal.

Students will also be given the opportunity at the beginning of each academic year to purchase textbooks, via the Forest Books company, who visit the site every year.

A designated course administrator is available from early morning to late evening each day over the residential weekends and any concerns related to residential accommodation are addressed by the presence of on-site maintenance and cleaning staff.

Mary Hare takes great pride in ensuring that any concerns, whether academic or more practical are addressed as they occur.  The Academic Co-ordinator is also present throughout the weekends to address any issues related to course delivery or student problems.
