WEAR IT LOUD FOR MARY HARE SCHOOL

Wear It Loud Day is 11th May 2012

The next Wear it Loud Day will take place during Deaf Awareness Week 2012: 7th- 13th May.

WIL-rabbit.jpgLast year we raised £400 from dressing up loud and in 2012 we would like to increase this to at least £1,000.

Organising a Wear it Loud Day is easy

Dress Down Day:
Charge your colleagues £1 to come in to work dressed down or up in bright colours. Ideal if you work in an office environment where your colleagues might be keen for an opportunity to wear jeans instead of a suit. Already have a dress down day? Why not spice things up a bit, challenge colleagues to come in the loudest tie they can find or choose a colour for everyone in the office to wear.

Get permission from your company, school, organisation or club.

Pick your date

It doesn’t necessarily have to be during Deaf Awareness Week , but it would be great if it was.

Create a plan for the day

This is the fun part! Ask around the workplace and get others involved –You could plan other activities on the day. The more activities you plan, the more likely you are to reach your fundraising target.

Contact your local press

Publicity is the key! Your local radio and community newspapers are there to support you and show your community how you are making a difference. Get in touch with them before your event and let them know what you're doing, when, why and how they can support you. Send you a picture of yourself after the event and thank everyone who has helped you.

Matched giving

Most companies will match £ for £ sponsorship raised by their employees. This is tax-efficient for them and a great way for you to double your money. So, if you raise £200 on the day, your employer will double this to £400.

We would love to receive your snapshots of your day and we’re always in need of new images for our website and publications. A good picture is also an excellent way to get into your local paper - send a copy to your local editor along with how much funds you have raised and see your name in print!
