Playground and Sensory Garden Project
Playground and Sensory Garden Project
The Primary school has recently launched their fundraising project for Winter 2010. They are in need of New Playground equipment and would like to establish a Sensory Flower and Vegetable Garden.
Sensory Garden
The sensory garden will enable the children to maximise using their senses to their full potential as well as promoting Healthy Eating in Schools.
Playground
A new playground will be of huge benefit to our children. As well as the obvious benefit of physical activity, play equipment helps with social development – taking turns, co-operating with each other – skills which are so important for all children to develop and which deaf children can learn through play even if they have little language to communicate with.
TOTAL REQUIRED: The total cost of the project is £22,000
We would like to thank our supporters:
Mercedes-Benz employees made a collection of donations on a staff night out at the dog races. The company has also kindly decided to name Mary Hare Primary as their chosen local charity. The donation will be used towards the sensory garden.Pictured from left: Peggy Kapp, Phil Murton (Mercedes Benz), Karen Smith (Head of Centre, Mary Hare Primary) and the children at Mary Hare Primary School.
We would also like to thank the Greenham Common Trust for their donation of £2500 towards the project. Our current total stands at £3,820 . You can make a donation online using the link on the right.
