April prepares for England Deaf Rugby South Africa Tour

April Platt, who joined the England Deaf Women's Rugby squad in September 2018 is now preparing for a tour to South Africa in 2020.  April says 'this will be the first tour since I joined the squad in September and I am so excited.'  Part of the selection criteria was that April had to have an audiogram over 40dcb.

April's love of rugby was encouraged whilst at Mary Hare School.  She then pursued this love after she left the school and was delighted to be selected for the England Deaf Rugby squad in 2018 where she played in second row.  April was one of the youngest members when she joined the squad and has thoroughly enjoyed her training.

Future plans?

April has said that she hopes to win her first cap abroad during the South Africa tour!

April is now hoping to raise £1500 via crowdfunding to help towards costs for the team to travel to South Africa next year.
