Social Life

We hope (and expect) you to enjoy being at 6th Form and to enjoy a good social life!  We know you will need to take a break from your studies at times!

6th Formers have a purpose built common room area in Carnarvon Hall.  It is a place to meet with your friends and attend organised evening events.  Our Care staff and pupils organize on and off site activities such as swimming, football, quizzes, movie nights and evenings out in Newbury.

Weekends will be busy too with trips to the cinema, ice skating, shopping and bowling.  We even have occasional organised events to places like The Clothes Show and concerts.

We also have a Leaver’s lunch and a Leaver’s ball in Carnarvon Hall which is a very popular and glamorous event!

There will be an opportunity to get even more involved in school life.  Pupils can apply to become prefects or you can even put yourself forward to be Head Boy or Head Girl.  Successful applicants will serve one year and will have a range of responsibilities including helping organizing whole school events.

‘I enjoyed being a prefect and being able to give something back to the school after the years it had supported me and given me so much.  I enjoyed our work with the Primary School this year too.’

‘…rather than being surrounded by your family you are surrounded by your friends having a good banter.  You create lifetime friends that you will be in contact with for the rest of your life despite how many miles away from each other you are.’
