The role of Director of Finance & Business is a key role in the organisation, as part of the Executive Team led by the Principal & Chief Executive.
 
The main responsibilities include:
  • Work with the Principal & Chief Executive and Board to develop and implement financial and business strategies
  • Preparation of budgets and management accounts, support for advisers producing statutory accounts, provision of financial services to the charity and associated companies
  • Development of human resources polices, provision of human resource services, provision of corporate services including buildings and estates management
  • Provision of strategic and operational leadership to the businesses and joint ventures, provision of financial services to the businesses
  • Ensure all Company Secretarial, companies and charity reporting and other statutory responsibilities are carried out
As a member of the Executive Team, the role also supports the development and implementation of the charity’s strategy and direction.
 
You will have had senior level experience in a previous organisation, ideally including an SME, with the experience of providing financial expertise and practical operational management. You will posses excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and other key stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a passion for Mary Hare and its objectives and will have the enthusiasm and desire to help the organisation develop in the future.

Applications for teaching positions are welcomed from both Teachers of the Deaf and teaching of hearing children who are interested in a unique opportunity.  Teachers without a formal qualification to teach deaf children are required to qualify, through in-service training, within 3 years of appointment.  Funding for these courses is provided by Mary Hare  School.

Note Taker

16hrs per week - Immediate Start

Hourly Rate: £8

A note taker is required immediately to support a visually impaired pupil.  It would be advantageous if the person was able to touch type and had experience of using, or an interest in learning to use, an Apple Mac computer.  The successful candidate would need to be flexible, as the hours are likely to be spread throughout the working week.  Experience of deaf people would be helpful but not essential.
