This study formed the basis of her doctorate. After a brief return to the NHS, Sarah was appointed as the first Clinical Director of the Burwood Centre for Childhood Deafness in 2000, a position she held for five years. It was during this period that Sarah first acted as a Module Leader for the Master's in Educational Audiology at Mary Hare.
Sarah became certified as an LSLS Cert AVT in 2012. With colleagues at Auditory Verbal UK, Sarah has contributed to the evidence base demonstrating the effectiveness of the Auditory Verbal approach as one route the parents of children with hearing loss may adopt when considering communication approaches in the early years. As an LSLS Cert AVT, Sarah has worked alongside families of pre-school children with widely differing profiles. She has contributed to the training of national and international AV interns, through programme development, tutoring and mentoring. She acts as a reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed journals
Sarah is the Module Leader for Speech Acoustics as part of the Master's in Educational Audiology.
