The Mary Hare Foundation
The Foundation was established in 1991 by Sir Philip Wroughton, supported by a group of individuals who wanted to help Mary Hare School by raising funds. As Chair of the Mary Hare Foundation until 1996, Sir Philip led the fundraising campaign to raise funds for a new Sixth Form Centre for Mary Hare School, which was built in 1995. Since then, the Foundation has gone on to raise funds for many transformative projects across the site, including Arlington Arts Centre, refurbishment of the swimming pool and science labs, and the new Primary School, which opened in 2022.

A registered charity
The Mary Hare Foundation is a separate registered charity (number 1002680) that has been established to raise funds for the work of Mary Hare. We depend on the support of donations, grants and other fundraising activities to develop our work in the field of educating deaf children and young people.
Since it was established, thanks to the generous support of our donors, the Mary Hare Foundation has raised over £12 million for developments at Mary Hare School. Our work to raise much needed funds is key to the future of Mary Hare School and its ability to provide excellent provision to deaf children and young people.

Mary Hare Foundation is committed to maintaining high standards in all our fundraising activities and to treating our supporters and members of the public with respect. If you have a concern or complaint about our fundraising, we would like to hear from you so that we have the opportunity to put things right.

Please provide as much information as possible about your complaint so that we can investigate it fully. We will acknowledge your complaint within five working days and aim to provide a full response within 25 working days. If we need longer to investigate, we will let you know. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may ask for your complaint to be reviewed by the Chair of the Mary Hare Foundation Trustees. If your complaint relates to fundraising and you remain dissatisfied following our response, you may be able to refer your complaint to the Fundraising Regulator.

The Fundraising Regulator generally expects people to give the organisation concerned the opportunity to deal with a fundraising complaint before referring it to the regulator.
