Primary School

Why Mary Hare Primary?

We are very pleased to announce that our new Primary School, situated on the same site as the Secondary School, is now open.  We accept primary aged deaf pupils from Reception into Year 6.  We offer both weekly boarding and day places.  Our boarders arrive on a Monday morning and go home on a Friday afternoon.  We do not offer weekend boarding.

We welcome visits to our school where you can see our teaching methods in action and meet our dedicated specialist staff.  We teach in small classes of no more than eight.  Pupils are taught by a qualified Teacher of the Deaf working in partnership with Teaching Assistants.  If you would like to arrange a visit please complete the form on the right.

We work closely with all our families from assessment stage right through to the pupils leaving us after Year 6.  Together we focus on our key aims which are to support pupils to maximise their listening skills, develop their spoken English and develop their self esteem and confidence.

We have high expectations of our pupils and, with our expert knowledge on deafness, we achieve great things with them.  Most importantly, our pupils have fun in and outside the classroom.

September 2022: We have officially opened our brand-new Primary School!
