We are looking for a dynamic, professional and enthusiastic person to lead one of our residential boarding houses. The role is to lead and successfully manage a stable and successful residential boarding house ensuring the successful delivery of agreed outcomes and high-quality care and support for children and young people living in the house and their subsequent transitions. To be responsible for and lead teams to contribute to the delivery of the highest standards of care, protection and support to children and young people. This will be achieved by coaching and mentoring team members to ensure that they facilitate their physical, social, psychological, and emotional development through the application of Mary Hare Residential Care Model and practice interventions, the Residential Special School standards (NMS) and all relevant guidance pertaining to the children’s houses quality standards (2015). To actively promote the Mary Hare philosophy of creating a safe, predictable, structured and homely environment that supports each child to achieve their maximum potential and to have a non-judgemental approach.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To be a stable and safe adult and a role model of excellent behaviour

To lead and participate in activities after school, in the evening and at weekends, promoting social communication and interaction on the school site and in the community.

Have an open, fun and mature approach to life

To provide care and support for pupils with assistance and mobility, communication and social interaction

To liaise, in conjunction with the staff team, with the school SENDCO, Learning Support Assistants, Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist to identify and support the writing of personal care plans and procedures.

To oversee the physical and emotional care of the pupils, including but not limited to, consideration of pupil’s health, diet, clothing, hygiene, safety, and emotional welfare.
