Our lovely Primary School is in Newbury, Berkshire. We offer day and weekly boarding places to primary aged pupils. Our key aim is to develop their English and their self esteem.
Small class sizes, acoustically treated classrooms, the full national curriculum and no signing in lessons. In addition, all our teachers are subjects specialists and Teachers of the Deaf.
We are the biggest centre for deaf pupils wanting to study A Levels and BTECs in the UK. We offer a wide choice of academic and vocational courses.
Our alumni are great ambassadors for the school. Their involvement includes giving talks to current pupils, raising funds and supporting us in raising awareness about our wonderful school.
We offer a wide range of courses and training opportunities for anyone working in the field of deaf education or audiology, founded on more than 100 years of experience of working with profoundly deaf young people.
The Mary Hare Foundation was established in 1991 to raise funds for Mary Hare School. Since then we have raised over £8 million to enable the school to modernise and build new facilities.
Mary Hare School came to its current home near Newbury in 1946. Since that time the organisation has grown to include a number of business, as well as postgraduate education, training courses and research.
