Getting it Right: Support and Advice on EHCPs, Tribunals and the application and funding process

If you are looking to begin the process to apply for a school placement for your child that offers special education provision, now is a good time to look into the steps you might need to take with some helpful advice that explain the process and what to expect.

Perhaps you have just started looking at schools and would like to know how to begin the process to secure an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for your child. Your child may already have an EHCP, and are looking for advice on how to make sure the plan accurately represents your child's needs. Or perhaps your Local Authority has named another school for your child that isn't your parental choice, and you would like advice on your next steps to appeal the process, and how to best naviate a SEND Tribunal.

Below are videos which go into greater detail about what you need to know. Take your time to watch through them as there is a lot of information to go through. It might be a good idea to have a pen and paper to hand to make notes where the advice might apply more directly to your current situation. If, after watching through these videos, you still have some questions, you can look through some of our Frequently Asked Questions or email our Admissions Manager by email at: [email protected]
