Celebrating GCSE success!

On Thursday 20 August, students at Mary Hare School have been celebrating their GCSE results reflecting their hard work, determination and academic achievement.

This year’s results placed the school among the top 25% of schools nationally for pupil progress, a fantastic achievement that reflects the resilience and success of of our students and the wider school community.

There are many achievements that deserve recognition, with students attaining excellent results and many others who have made huge progress in their own educational journeys.

Maya is celebrating outstanding results including a grade 9 in Biology, English Language and Literature, and French, and says, “Thanks to Mary Hare School, I managed to achieve very high results which I can be proud of. This wouldn’t have been possible without the endless support from all the teachers encouraging me to do my best. Receiving these results feels like a dream and I cannot be more proud as a deaf student to break through education barriers and achieve the best."

Maya’s mother, Jessica, also added, “Mary Hare is and has always been the perfect school setting for Maya. The staff have shepherded her through her academic journey and supported her when needed. I am immensely proud of her and her efforts and extremely thankful to the knowledgeable and caring staff at Mary Hare.”

Fletcher, who’s results included grades 7 in English Literature and History, a 6 in Mathematics and Distinction in Sports Studies, shares huge delight in his results:

Taylor, who has made huge progress on his results with the additional support provided by the school, says:

Taylor’s parents added, "We are so proud of Taylor, he's worked hard and all the revision paid off.  He's gained a solid foundation for success at Sixth Form. Well done young man."

Chris Adams, Vice Principal of Curriculum and Achievement at Mary Hare School, says, “I am extremely proud of the results from our Year 11 pupils; they demonstrate the hard work and dedication shown by all pupils and staff. All pupils have made excellent progress from their starting point with Mary Hare, and this should be celebrated. Our results place us in the top 25% of schools nationally for progress for the fourth year in a row, which is exceptional. I look forward to seeing them continue to thrive and go on to achieve even more in the Sixth Form.”

It has been another successful year for our students at Mary Hare School as they now pursue their next steps, and we look forward to welcoming back many in September as they commence their Sixth Form studies.
