Students artwork features in local exhibition

We were delighted to be invited by Camilla, the Gallery and Events Coordinator at The Base, Greenham, to participate for the second year in their schools and colleges exhibition, GENerate.

The exhibition runs throughout January and involves Art, Craft and Design work from 10 local schools and colleges.  It is great to see our students' work in a professional gallery setting.

On Monday 15 January a group of our Sixth Form students studying Art, Craft and Design, Textile Design and Photography visited the exhibition and were delighted to see so much work from our school on display.  We met Charlotte, the Community and Engagement Officer, who talked to our students about the exhibition and how The Base provides an exhibition space and working environment for local artists and community groups.  The students were also able to visit the studio spaces and had the chance to speak with the resident artists as they were working.

This was a really useful visit as well as seeing an exhibition of work close up, I was able to talk with two of the artists as they worked in their studios. It made me want to develop my own work further.

Thank you to The Base for showcasing our students' work. You can find out more about the exhibition and the venue here: The Base, Greenham
