Worshipful Company of Lightmongers Education Awards 2022

On Wednesday 11 May James Keer and Francesca Viney, Head Boy and Head Girl of Mary Hare, attended the Education Awards, held by the Worshipful Company of Lightmongers, in recognition of their hard work for the school.

The event took place at Tallow Chandler's Hall, in London, where they attended the Court Dinner along with Principal, Peter Gale, and Vice Principal, Robin Askew. The Worshipful Company of Lightmongers is one of the modern Livery Companies, and through its Charitable Trust the Lightmongers seek to encourage the long-term technical strength of the industry by providing Awards to the top performing students on a range of lighting education and training courses. Additionally, the Lightmongers have a long history of supporting Mary Hare, as well as New College Worcester, and James and Francesca were each awarded a framed certificate in recognition for their contribution and hard work at Mary Hare.

Head Boy, James Keer, said, 'The dinner, as well as the members of the Lightmongers, were absolutely lovely. It was incredible how relatable and compassionate the members of the Lightmongers are as the stereotypes and the archetypes of wealthy guilds was thrown out of the window.'

Principal Peter Gale said, 'We greatly value our relationship with the Worshipful Company of Lightmongers. Not only do they offer some financial support, but equally importantly, they give our young people wonderful experiences, like attending a Court Dinner in such beautiful surroundings.'
